Qué me trajeron los reyes / What I got for Christmas

¡Hola a todos y feliz año!

Espero que hayáis pasado unas fiestas estupendas y que os hayan traído muchas cosas los reyes magos. Para las que me leéis desde fuera de España debo explicar lo primero que lo tradicional aquí es que los regalos los traigan los reyes magos la noche del 5 al 6 de enero, a veces Papá Noel hace alguna visita con alguna cosilla pequeña pero no siempre. Y este año he debido de ser buenísima porque me han traído muuuchas cositas. Las comparto con vosotros en este post rapidillo.

¿Qué pensáis de lo que me han traído? ¿Qué os han traído a vosotros? y ¿Cuáles son las costumbres de dónde vivís?

I hope you have had a great holiday season and that the Santa brought you lots of things. For the ones of you reading from other countries I must explain that here, in Spain, the tradion is to have your gifts from the Three Wise Men on the night between the 5^th and the 6^th of January, sometimes Santa pays us a visit with some small things but not always. And this year I must have been extra good because I got lots of things. here I share them with you in this quick post.

What do you think about what I got? What have you got? and, Which are the uses where you live?

1. Egyptian Art, Taschen. Un libro precioso y enoooorme lleno de ilustraciones de Egipto hechas por Emile Prisse d'Avennes, uno de los exploradores de Egipto en el siglo XIX. (En inglés, francés y alemán)

2. Vestido estilo retro de la preciosa tienda Remember? del Rastro de Madrid 

3. Edición ilustrada de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas de la editorial Edelvives. Absolutamente precioso.

4. El pan casero de Ibán Yarza. Ed. Larousse. Un libro genial para hacer pan. Ya he hecho alguna de las recetas que vienen (roscón de reyes, pan de pita y pan sin amasado) y son geniales y están buenísimas. Lo recomiendo totalmente.

5. Taza de El despertar de la Fuerza, qué puedo decir, un té con su toque friki, perfecto.

6. Rasqueta de coche. Con las heladas que caen aquí era totalmente necesario, es lo que más uso, jejeje.

7. Zapatos de Stradivarius, enamoradísima de ellos.

8. Colección barras de labios Scandalous de Make Up Revolution. Preciosas y atrevidas, prometo review en breve.

9. Labiales líquidos mate Salvation velvet de Make Up Revolution en los colores Depravity y Black Heart. Como véis los labiales llamativos son mi debilidad. también habrá review.

10. Colección sombras de ojos Scandalous de Make Up Revolution. Lo mismo que los pintalabios, preciosas y atrevidas, prometo review en breve.

11. Broche de Audrey Hepburn. Precioso.

12. El libro de cocina de Breaking Bad. Todavía no lo he probado, no sé es raro porque la verdad es que no veía la serie. Lo mismo es una excusa para empezar a verla, oye.

13. Camiseta de Star Wars de El señor Miyagi (sí, es de niños, es que si no no me valen, jejej). Sale Darth Vader en su caza con una foto de Luke y Leia que dice "Papá no corras". Genial

2. Retro-style dress from the precious shop Remember? on the Rastro of Madrid 
3. Ilustrated edition of Alice in Wonderland from Edelvives. Absolutely gorgeous.
4. El pan casero by Ibán Yarza. Ed. Larousse. A great book to make bread at home. I have already made some recipes (roscón de reyes, pita bread and no-kneading bread) and are great and very tasty. I absolutely recommend it. (In Spanish)

5. Mug of The Force Awakens, what can I say, tea with a geek touch?, perfect.
6. Car scrapper. As here it freezes a lot by night it was totally needed, the thing I use the most, hahaha.
7. Shoes from Stradivarius, completely in love with them.
8. Scandalous lipstick collection by Make Up Revolution. Beautiful and bold, I promise a review soon.
9. Matte lip lacquers Salvation velvet by Make Up Revolution in the colours Depravity and Black Heart. As you can see, bold lipsticks are my weakness, there will also be a review.
10. Scandalous eyeshadows collection by Make Up Revolution. The same as the lipsticks, beautiful and bold, I promise a review soon.
11. Brooch with Audrey Hepburn. Beautiful.
12. The Breaking Bad Cookbook. I haven’t tried it yet, I don’t know, it’s weird because I didn’t watch the series. It might be a good excuse to start watching it, ;-).
13. Star Wars T-shirt from El señor Miyagi (yes, it is a kids one, I’m too small for the average ones). In it appears Darth Vader in his TIE fighter with a picture of Luke and Leia that says “Dad, do not go too fast”. Amazing.

Hoy os quería hablar del proyecto de Trnd España del que he formado parte el último mes. Se trata de un proyecto en colaboración con Freixenet para promocionar el lanzamiento de Mia, su nuevo vino espumoso.

Today I want to talk about the project of Trnd España of which I’ve been part for the past month. it is a project done in collaboration with Freixenet to promote the launch of Mia, its new sparkling wine.

Os explico un poco el tipo de vino que es y luego os daré mi opinión totalmente sincera. Mia es un vino espumoso afrutado diseñado por la enóloga Gloria Collell, quién ha convertido a la ciudad de Barcelona en su musa para elaborar este vino. Según la nota de prensa, es producto de un año de investigación y recopilación de opiniones de creadores de vinos de todo el mundo, unidos al enfoque femenino de su creadora.

I will explain you what kind of wine it is and then I will give you my most sincere opinion. Mia is a fruity sparkling wine designed by the enologist Gloria Collell, who has turned the city of Barcelona in its muse to do this wine.  According to the press release, it is a product that has taken one year of investigation and compilation oif opinions from wine-makers across the world, together with the feminine touch of its creator.

Viene en dos formatos:

-          Fruity and Sweet. Elaborado con uva 100% moscatel de la costa mediterránea española. Es fresco y ligero, de color amarillento, y combina bien con frutos secos, queso y postres.

-          Delicate and Sweet. También elaborado con moscatel de la costa mediterránea española pero con un toque de tempranillo. Es delicado y equilibrado, de color rosado, y marida con salmón, marisco, queso azul y comida asiática.

In Spain, it comes in two formats (I’ve seen that there are more worldwide):

-          Fruity and Sweet. Done with 100% Moscato grapes from the Spanish Mediterranean coast. It is fresh and light, yellowish, and combines well with nuts, cheese and desserts.

-          Delicate and Sweet. Also done with Moscato grapes from the Spanish coast but with a little touch of Tempranillo. it is delicate and balance, with a rosé colour, and can be served with seafood, blue cheese and Asian food.

Y ahora que os he explicado un poco el concepto os doy mi opinión. Se resume en: no está mal. Yo al principio era un poco escéptica porque los anteriores que había probado de este estilo, que parece que está muy de moda, no me habían gustado nada, me parecían muy, muy dulces; tanto que sólo me sabían “dulce” (puede que mi cabeza haya exagerado un poco, jejej), pero estos no están mal en el sentido de que tienen un cierto gusto a vino, que en el fondo es lo que uno espera en un vino, ¿no? Y en verano fresquitos se beben de maravilla, sobre todo acompañando pescado.

Now that I have explained the concept, let me give my opinion. It can be summarised in: not bad. At first I was skeptical because the previous wines of this kind, which seems to be in fashion around here, I’ve tried were awful, they seemed to be very, very sweet; so much that they only tasted “sweet” to me (my mind may have exaggerated a little bit), but these are not bad in the sense that they still taste like wine, which is what one expects when drinking win, right? And, having them very cold in summer is great, above all combined with fish.

He de decir que yo los he probado tres veces en eventos familiares (aunque solo tengo documentación fotográfica de dos –¡esta cabeza mía! –). La primera vez probé los dos con un lomo de cerdo relleno de piña y bacón y pegaban menos. Pero la segunda y la tercera vez los probé con mejillones al vapor y sardinitas a la plancha y mejoran mucho con pescado y, en contra de lo que especifican los maridajes que recomienda Freixenet, yo elegí Fruity and Sweet (el blanco) con el pescado las dos veces porque es menos dulce y ya veis que los vinos dulces y yo no somos buenos amigos (aunque el oporto y otros del estilo, con un regusto a pasas, me encantan con el postre).

I must say that I have tried them three times at family events (altough there are only pictures of two –shame on my poor memory! –). The first time I tried both with a pork loin stuffed with pineapple and bacon and they did not fit quite right. But the second and third time I tried them with steamed mussels and grilled sardines, respectively, and they felt much better and, against what is adviced by Freixenet, I paired Fruity and Sweet (the white one) with fish both times because it is less sweet and you have already seen what I think about sweet wines (altough I love porto wine and other of the same kind, with a raisin touch, with my dessert).

En resumen: no están mal para el veranito fresquitos, aunque creo que sigo prefiriendo mi verdejo del alma. Eso sí, para subir el glamour de cualquier evento o aperitivo son perfectos y hasta pueden convertirse en un buen regalo.

All in all: they are not bad cold in the summer, altough I think I’ll stick to my beloved Verdejo. But truth must be said, they are perfect to glamour-up every event or aperitivo and they can even become a great gift.

Hola,

Me llamo Marina y acabo de crear este blog sin saber mucho de cómo funciona esto. Aunque llevo años siguiendo muchos blogs (casi demasiados diría yo) no me había decidido a hacer uno propio hasta ahora. Supongo que es lo típico porque he leído esta misma historia muuuchas veces en otros blogs y videos de Youtube.

Bueno, pues de momento el blog está un poquito "en bragas" y no sé muy bien cómo quedará cuando aprenda a meter cosas (como por ejemplo la aplicación del GFC -¿alguien sabe cómo funciona?-) y sepa cómo funciona todo, pero sí que puedo dar un pequeño adelanto temático.

Estas son algunas de las cositas y temas que vais a poder ver paseando por el blog:

- Maquillaje y pintauñas y cosas muuuuy coloridas en general (no encontraréis mucha cosa "neutra" o "nude" por aquí, sorry. Soy una yonki de los colorines... tanto que creo que si fuese animal estaría perdida, ya sabéis los típicos sapos o pulpos supervenenosos pero con muuuchos colorines para asustar, pues yo iría de cabeza a por ellos... Aiss, qué sabia la naturaleza que me hizo humana -o eso se rumorea-)

- Pin-up, cosas retro y cincuenteras en general (¿os he dicho que me equivoqué de año para nacer?)

- Ciencia ficción, fantasía (Sobre todo de la Guerra de las Galaxias y El Señor de los Anillos)

- Libros, películas y series (críticas de los libros, películas y series que haya visto recientemente, sin importar si son estreno o no, y sobre todo de fantasía y ciencia ficción de la antigua, que es la que me gusta, jejeje)

- Steampunk (muy relacionado con todo lo demás que me gusta así que era algo obvio que acabase pasando)

- Música (una vez más tiraré hacia tiempos pasados, y hacia el inglés. No lo puedo evitar, jejeje)

- Recetas (¡me encanta cocinar! y más aún comérmelo después :-D )

- Cosas relacionadas con mis mascotas: un perro (Lenny) y una cobaya (Bicho)

- Puede que haya algo de moda pero os puedo garantizar que probablemente no será lo que esté de moda en ese momento. Como ya os habéis podido imaginar el pasado llama jejeje. 

- Cualquier otra cosa que se me ocurra o que alguien me proponga

De momento eso es todo. Siento las divagaciones pero es que me pasa siempre. Intentaré centrarme más, ¡prometido!

Hi,

My name is Marina and I have just created this blog without knowing very well how does it work. Altough I've been following and reading many blogs (too much I would say) I had never thought about making my own until now. I guess this is typical because I’ve heard the same story many times from other bloggers and youtubers.

For the moment, the blog is a little bit provisional and I don’t know how it will turn when I learn to put things on it (like the application of GFC –does anybody know how it works?-) and how it works, but I can give a theme preview.

These are some of the things and topics that you will be able to see on blog:

- Make-up and nail polish and very colourful things in general (you won’t be finding anything "nude" around here, sorry. I’m a colour-holic... so much that I thing that if I were an animal I would be lost, you know, very poisonous toads and octopuses but with plenty of colours to scare, well, I would go straight to them... How wise nature is for making me human –or so they say-)

- Pin-up, retro, vintage and 1950’s stuff (Have I told you that I mistook the year to be born?)

- Sci-fi, fantasy (Above all Star Wars and The Lord of The Rings)

- Books, films and series (review of the books, films and series I have recently read/watch, no matter if they are new or not, and above all they will be fantasy and old-school sci-fi, the best one for me)

- Steampunk (very related to everything else I like so it was obvious that it would happened)

- Music (once more I would go to the oldies and to English. I can’t help myself!)

- Recipes (I love to cook! and even more to eat it later :-D )

- Things related to my pets: a dog (Lenny) and a guinea pig (Bicho)

- There my be something about fashion but I can guarantee that I probably won’t be the one in fashion at that moment. as you could have already imagined, past always calls me!

- Anything I come up with or anything that you suggest.

For the moment that’s all. I’m sorry about the wandering but it is something that always happens to me. I promise to focus a little more, promised!
